How ImageWise handles account data, uploaded images, AI editing tasks, rights confirmations, and your privacy.

Last updated: 2026-08-23

Introduction

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what ImageWise collects, how we use and share it, how image-processing features work, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

  1. Account Information — Your name, email address, authentication details, account settings, and support communications.
  2. Usage and Device Data — Features accessed, timestamps, browser and device information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, diagnostics, and security events.
  3. Cookies and Similar Technologies — Data used to maintain sessions, remember preferences, measure performance, and help prevent abuse. Anonymous trials may use limited identifiers to enforce per-feature usage limits.
  4. Payment Information — Billing and transaction details handled by trusted payment processors. We do not store full payment-card numbers on our servers.
  5. AI Task Content — Source images, selected or masked regions, prompts, language selections, editing instructions, generated or transformed outputs, task identifiers, tool type, model and provider information, processing status, credit usage, and confirmations you submit about ownership or permission to edit an image.
  6. Reports and Rights Claims — Information provided in abuse, safety, privacy, copyright, trademark, or other rights complaints, together with records reasonably needed to investigate and respond.

How Image Processing Works

ImageWise provides both local and AI-assisted tools:

  • Local image tools process files directly in your browser. Unless you separately choose an AI feature, save a task, or upload the file, the image is not sent to ImageWise for that local operation.
  • AI image tools require relevant content and instructions to be transmitted to ImageWise infrastructure and third-party storage or AI providers acting on our behalf. For Remove Text, Remove Object, and AI Watermark Remover, this can include the source image, selected region or mask, editing instructions, tool type, and task result.

Before processing an AI Watermark Remover task, the service requires you to confirm that you own the image or have permission to edit it. We may store that confirmation as task metadata for service operation, policy enforcement, abuse prevention, and the handling of rights claims. The confirmation is your statement; it is not an independent ownership check by ImageWise and does not grant or transfer any rights.

AI providers may process content in countries other than your own and may apply their own safety systems. ImageWise does not treat a tool's technical ability to remove text, objects, logos, or watermarks as proof that a user owns or is authorized to edit the submitted material.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
  • Process images and generate the output you request.
  • Maintain task history, account settings, and credit or usage balances.
  • Process transactions and send service, billing, security, and support messages.
  • Protect the service, enforce usage limits and policies, and detect fraud, abuse, infringement, or security threats.
  • Investigate reports, respond to rights complaints, establish or defend legal claims, and comply with law.
  • Analyze aggregated or de-identified performance and usage trends.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process data as needed to perform our contract with you, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests such as security and abuse prevention, or based on your consent.

Content Review and Rights Enforcement

We do not undertake to verify ownership of every uploaded image or monitor every task. Automated safeguards, provider safety systems, and human review may be used for content or activity that is flagged, reported, or reasonably suspected of violating our policies or the law. When necessary, reviewers may access prompts, uploads, masks, outputs, task metadata, and relevant account activity.

We may preserve or disclose limited information when reasonably necessary to investigate a rights complaint, protect users or the service, comply with legal process, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data only as reasonably necessary:

  • With infrastructure, storage, AI, authentication, email, analytics, customer-support, and payment providers that help operate the service or process your request.
  • With professional advisers, auditors, insurers, or transaction counterparties subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
  • To comply with law, court orders, or lawful requests from authorities.
  • To protect ImageWise, our users, rights holders, or others from fraud, abuse, infringement, security threats, or other harm.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

Retention and Deletion

AI task files, including uploaded source files, masks, and results, are generally retained for up to 30 days so task history and downloads can operate. You should download needed results promptly and may delete available task records earlier through the service. Deletion from backups, caches, or a provider's temporary processing systems may take additional time.

Limited task metadata, including tool type and an ownership-or-permission confirmation, may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for account administration, security, abuse prevention, policy enforcement, rights complaints, dispute resolution, or legal claims. Account, billing, support, security, usage-limit, and rights-complaint records may also be retained for those purposes or to meet tax and legal obligations. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to applicable law.

International Data Transfers

ImageWise and its providers may process data in countries with different data-protection laws. Where required, we use legally recognized transfer mechanisms and reasonable safeguards for international transfers.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system or Internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal data, or withdraw consent. These rights may be limited where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, billing, legal compliance, or legal claims. You may also delete available task records or close your account through the service.

To make a privacy request, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Children's Privacy

The service is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. Do not submit personal data or images of children unless you have lawful authority and all required consents. We may remove content and restrict accounts when child-safety or consent requirements are not met.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice through the service.
