Guide attention with the right amount of blur

Blur a complete image or use AI to locate faces, license plates, and sensitive text, then apply the effect locally at the original dimensions.

Designed for real image workflows

Blur photos online for focus, design, and privacy

Create soft backgrounds, reduce distracting detail, or obscure selected private areas. Entire-image blur runs locally in your browser; Smart Privacy uses AI only to locate matching regions before the final blur is rendered locally.

Create a soft photo background that keeps headlines, captions, and calls to action easy to read.

Reduce visual distractions for social posts, presentations, thumbnails, and product graphics.

Use Smart Privacy to locate faces, license plates, or sensitive text, then review the blurred regions before export.

How to blur an image online

Upload a photo, choose an entire-image or Smart Privacy workflow, and tune the blur while previewing the result.

  1. 01

Upload a JPG, PNG, WebP, or supported image from your device.

  2. 02

Choose Entire image or Smart Privacy, select any private areas to detect, and adjust the blur strength.

  3. 03

Inspect the preview at full size, increase the blur if details remain readable, and download the finished image.

Practical blur tips

Choose blur settings that fit the job

A subtle blur can support a layout, while privacy-sensitive material requires stronger settings and careful review.

Keep text overlays readable

Start with a moderate blur for hero banners, slides, and social graphics. Increase it only until the background stops competing with your message.

Check every detected region

Smart detection can miss small, angled, low-contrast, or partly covered details. Review the full image and use entire-image blur when broader concealment is needed.

Keep an untouched original

Blur removes visible detail from the exported copy. Save the source separately so you can create a different version later.

Blur image FAQ

Can I blur an entire image online?

Yes. Choose Entire image and move the blur-strength control until the preview matches the effect you want. The final file keeps the source image dimensions.

Can I blur faces, license plates, or text automatically?

Smart Privacy can use AI to locate selected faces, license plates, and sensitive text. Detection is an aid rather than a guarantee, so check every region before downloading.

Are my photos processed in the browser?

Entire-image blur and final rendering run locally in your browser. Smart Privacy sends a prepared image to AI only to detect the regions you selected; the blur and export are still rendered locally.

Does blurring an image change its dimensions?

No. The tool renders the blurred result at the original pixel width and height, although the exported file size can change after encoding.

Is blur safe for hiding sensitive information?

Blur can make details harder to read, but it is not guaranteed irreversible redaction. Use a strong blur, inspect at full size, and remove or crop high-risk information when possible.

Can I undo blur after downloading?

Not reliably. A blurred export no longer contains the same visible detail as the source. Keep the original file if you may need an unblurred or differently blurred version.
